Follow your heart and you won’t be lost

If you follow your heart, you won't be walking on anyone else’s beaten path.

Even though you may feel lost from time to time, you can't lose your way if you're making your own path. Your path won’t exist until you create it, and it's yours alone to find. So who's to say you're lost? You're discovering your path, and when you're on a journey there is no such thing as lost, only new discovery.

Anyone who judges you for doing it the wrong way isn't paying attention to their own path. Like an explorer charting wild and unknown territory, when you follow your heart you have the opportunity to discover the secrets you have hidden deep within. If you can let go of needing to know where you’re going all of the time, and allow yourself to be wherever you are, you might even enjoy being lost sometimes. Getting lost helps you to discover and uncover new paths for yourself.

You are far greater than you might be able to know or see for yourself right now.

Getting lost from time to time helps you to learn more about your strengths and true capabilities. If you don’t need to match to a socially acceptable version of you, a pre-packaged assembly line factory version of how you ‘should’ be, you can create a one of a kind life, yours. You are the author of your own book, the director of your own movie. The choices you make are all your own.

There is no guarantee that walking on your own path will take you in any exact direction or to any perfect conclusion. So much is out of your control. There is also no guarantee that walking on a prefab path will get you where you want to be, either.

It may, on the surface, appear easier to do so. Many people, afraid to make a mistake, would rather follow the path already laid out for them. That’s fine, and also not your problem. Your job is to decide what you want to do, and then do it from your own authentic heart.
