We’re all making it up as we go

A new day begins, bringing with it more opportunities for you to choose.

In each moment, you're making it up as you go. Beginning with getting out of bed in the morning, you’re responsible for a bevy of choices about your life today. What mood will you embrace as you step into the day? What attitude will you choose to carry with you on your path?

You get to decide what clothes you’re wearing for the day ahead, and you also get to decide what energy you’re carrying with you. It’s not always easy to decide how you’re going to feel, but you do get to choose what you will do about how you feel.

You have a lot of power with all of these choices, even when you think you don’t.

You’re in charge of leading yourself, each and every day. You're making it up as you go, and so is everyone else. If you’re afraid to lead you, you can decide to follow other leaders, and do what they tell you to do. Many people like this option because it seems easier; they don’t have to decide for themselves and possibly make a lot of mistakes along the way.

Though following a leader who doesn’t have your interests at heart may be the biggest error, it’s all part of your education. Making mistakes is how we learn. Just remember that the leaders you're following are making it up as they go, too.

After a good lesson and some new information, we are free to pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off, and get back on the path of choices.

What it comes down to is that we’re all making it up as we go along our individual paths. Embracing this can be freeing, and it can also be stressful, because who’s responsible, and where’s the five year plan, and what’s going to happen? Who do I blame if it doesn’t go well? What if I don’t know what I’m doing?

When you realize that how you choose affects what you can manifest and have in your life, it makes it more fun to choose consciously. No matter who you decide to follow or listen to, there are no guarantees. This is why it’s useful to learn to listen to your own truth, and to follow your own heart as you walk your path. There is no predetermined outcome. You have choices, many of them.

We are each of us unique and different, and we are all making up our own scripts as we go along the path. This is true for the world all around us as well. Today’s sunset is going to be different from any other sunset that ever was. The sun isn’t working from a script, and the conditions of how it’s setting right now in this moment are not exactly the same as at any other time. The same goes with how the ocean waves crash on the beach, and the flight of birds high up in the sky, and all the people on the ground.

There are miracles happening around us in every moment on earth. If you pay attention, you’ll see what I mean.

This is consciousness. There are many things you and I have no control over in our lives every day. I have no control over how you will decide to speak to me. I choose how I will respond to you. If you speak to me with anger, I can choose to respond in kind, or I can choose to decide for myself and perhaps respond differently. Maybe then I can see through your anger and realize you are worried, or in pain, or afraid. I can’t control any of that, but you can.

You can decide to do something about your own worries, fears, and pain. You are making it up as you go along, and in every moment you have another choice. Choose well.
