Have you had your daily dose of beauty?

Did you know that beauty is your birthright?

You live on a gorgeous planet, after all. You are fully equipped to experience the earth's beauty through all of your senses: sight, sound, smell, taste, touch. The earth is only too happy to indulge you; this earth is a cornucopia of delights, a paradise.

If you’re in the midst of a busy day, hitting stress and challenges along the way, getting your daily dose of beauty can make all the difference in how you feel. You can take a few minutes to slow down and look, listen, taste, touch, and smell. An added bonus is that your senses will remind you that you are a human being, with a body.

When you give beauty to your body’s senses, you heal.

You can become more fully human by doing so. It’s worth your while to be conscious of this, and to begin setting aside the time for you to heal yourself this way. Artists make it their business to find the beautiful in everything: whether in an urban landscape, a twisted scrap heap, or a beautiful lush garden. It is in the eye of the beholder that beauty lives, truly.

If you can go through your day looking for the beauty that surely exists around you, your life can become richer and more interesting – to you.

Beauty exists in other people too.

If you make it a conscious choice on your part to greet others with the intent of spreading beauty, your days will have a grace to them. You will find a lot more of the same being directed right back at you.

Beauty has a peace to it, as well as joy, love, and happiness, and when you communicate from any of these energies, you are bringing something beautiful to another human being.

What about the beauty in your daily life?

Everyday objects can have grace too. Try this, rather than think about how something looks or how much it costs, or whether it fits in, look to see what it adds to your life. Does it give to your senses? How do you feel when you look at it or are around it?

For example, if you’ve been dressing yourself according to prevailing accepted styles, rather than by what feels beautiful to you, you may be missing the whole point of adorning yourself with garments. If you’ve been following the herd rather than your own senses, you may feel you’re missing something.

By listening to your body’s needs, senses, and feelings, you can bring the beautiful back into your life, every day. You don’t need to spend a lot to do so either – just open up your eyes, and look. Why not start making it a daily practice to find the beauty in your world?
