Designated driver for the pain

No, it’s not a new hit country song. It is how a lot of people see themselves, though unconsciously so.

As in, “well, I’m just going to go pick up that pain over there, drive it around, and see if I can find it a good home”. Pain makes things real for many people, it makes their bodies real.

Honoring someone else’s pain is seen as the right thing to do, and often people will honor pain for generations by carrying it on. Pain becomes more real than Wellness.

Validation from within gets you where you want to be

If you want it to be real for you, you've got to find your validation from within yourself.

Validation is a spiritual vibration that affects you on every level, but especially in your emotions. You can feel validation from within.

Validation is not an intellectual energy. You can be validated for your intellect, but unless you are allowed to have the validation for yourself, you may try to prove your worth to others. This often turns into a never ending cycle of needing to 'prove' you have worth in order to have it.

The healing power of anger

Who had permission to get angry in your house when you were growing up?

Was it you, your mother or father, or someone else? Was anger accepted as a normal, natural human emotion? Or was it judged as being a negative and unsafe emotion?

It may be that only the women in your family were allowed to get angry, or only the men. There simply wasn’t room for anyone else ‘to express their feelings of annoyance, displeasure, or hostility’ – (Webster’s definition of anger).

Forgiveness leads to trust

What if you decide to forgive and let go? What if others do the same?

Simply by forgiving each other and especially our own selves, we go a long way to creating more trust in the world. Forgiveness is a big part of learning to trust.

If you forgive yourself, another person, or a group that hurt you, you free up your own energy and reclaim your power. This helps you regain trust for yourself, your choices, and life in general.

Perhaps you lost trust in yourself because you made a choice that wasn’t the best for you.

Oh for the love of self

The parts of me I loved fiercely as a young girl were my certainty and strength.

At age 5 I was brave, with a fierce sense of right and wrong, and a natural love of myself.

I wouldn't allow any other kid to talk down to me or mistreat me. I owned who I was, and I protected those I cared for. I was respected and popular in my neighborhood.

This changed when I was 7; my family moved to a new neighborhood, and suddenly my old love of self was gone, replaced by a picture of myself as pretender.

What does it mean to have your space?

As a psychic reader, I often look at the energy of having space.

Sometimes the person I’m reading has lost her or his space, given it up to something or someone else. Other energy has become more important in that person’s space than their own energy, needs, health, desires, dreams, or information.

This is a spiritual choice, and often an unconscious one. A psychic reading is a great place to say hello to this energy so that the person handling it can become conscious, and perhaps choose to let it go.

Currently many of us are working on where we have given up space to money and its ‘value’. When we give greater value to something outside of ourselves, we often undervalue the bountiful riches to be found within.

Embrace the unwanted parts of yourself and find the real you

Try this: get dressed up and go call on your inner demons, the unwanted parts of you.

Invite them for tea and cookies, gluten free if you prefer. Say hello to your unwanted bits when they arrive, and ask them to sit down and join you for a friendly chat.

Be nice, especially if you’ve gone out of your way to avoid them in the past. You might not have felt like being seen with them before.

Give it a try now, it’s worth it. They have some useful things to tell you, so try to listen without judgment.

The work you do on you, helps you to do your work

The time you spend giving to and healing yourself, is time well invested.

Sometimes I allow myself to get so busy with my work and activities that I run myself down. I’ve been primarily self employed for most of my adult years, and in my ever present enthusiasm to create my latest thing, I shirk my responsibilities to my body from time to time.

I know when I’ve gone just a bit too far over the line, because I hit one of those days where my body basically tells me, “no, you are not doing a thing today”. I’ve learned over the years that I have to listen to what my body needs if I expect to have enough energy to show up tomorrow and do my work, so on those days I do my best to give my body the rest it wants.
