Healing yourself by becoming you, from the inside out

There are as many ways to heal as there are human beings on this planet.

We have the power to heal ourselves, and we don’t have to do it all by ourselves. Only you can decide what is healing for you, and how healing looks for you.

When you heal yourself, others around you benefit as well. You’re not doing it for them, you’re doing it for you.

Agreements make the world go round

Being conscious to the agreements I've made with myself and others is part of my self care practice.

I learned about spiritual agreements in my clairvoyant training.

In my search for answers to questions and problems that had been bothering me for years, I finally signed up for a meditation class. I wanted to feel better, and I had a feeling this class could help. It did help, I loved it, and next thing I knew I’d signed up for clairvoyant training.

Joy and Grief

I am the first born of a family that became 6 children, two parents, and an assortment of dogs over the years.

My brother Jack was born 13 months after me, so we were kinda like Irish twins, in that we were closest in age for a while and hung out together a lot as kids. We actually liked each other and didn’t fight or compete too much, as I recall. He was also my partner in crime for a few capers when we were quite small, and again later on as teenagers.

The ongoing conversation between my body and spirit

I have learned to listen to my body when it is telling me things.

In my younger years, I didn’t listen much at all, and didn’t even know this might be a good thing to do.

I had non stop energy and the ability to run at a very fast speed and Get A Lot Done, and so I didn’t understand or hear my body when it was talking to me. It may have tried to communicate with me quietly and politely at first, I don’t know, because I wasn’t present to hear it. I just kept doing all the things and telling my body ‘this is what we’re doing today’. I was Type A+, I mean, I had it all under control!

How I learned to see myself clearly, and to love what I see

Ever since childhood, I’ve been deeply committed to having my creativity in my life.

As a young woman freshly graduated from art school, I created a fashion and costume business, which was my dream. I was making a living as an artist and designer, and hanging out with artists of all kinds. It was fascinating and fun, and exactly what I’d set out to do.

But I was often invalidated and insecure about myself and my creations, and had the feeling that I wasn’t good enough.

Learning to heal yourself is a skill worth developing

Consciously choosing to heal yourself helps you create healing within.

You make choices every day of your life. At a certain age, you learned to choose what you would wear each day, and to dress yourself. You became more self sufficient, not needing anyone else to tell you that you needed shoes and socks on your feet. You began to have an opinion about what clothing you put on your body every day.

When you were old enough, you may have helped your family to prepare food. Being able to feed yourself was seen as a good skill to develop, one that you'd certainly need when you became an adult and had to take care of yourself.

How do you heal yourself?

Everyone has the power to heal.

Healing is a creative choice, a conscious act. When it comes to your own healing, you have more power than you may know. Healing yourself is an everyday way to live, and isn’t only for when you are sick or injured.

Everyone has a different definition of what 'self healing' means. For you, it may mean that you’re living a life that fulfills you. For example, maybe healing yourself means that you actively seek relationships that are based on mutual respect, trust, and love. You do work that is meaningful for you.

When you show up to do the work

When you show up to do the work of becoming you, you put your energy back into yourself, and into your life.

This is when you invest in your own future, as well as your present. When you do this, you are able to perform miracles, such as healing yourself from events in your past that have lingered, places where you left parts of yourself behind.

When you release your energy from those places, you can have it back now, where it can really do some good for you.

What’s your body’s status update today?

If you asked your body right now to give you a status update, what would it say?

Would you hear something along the lines of ‘Happy today, feeling good with pretty toes!’, or perhaps more like ‘Tired sluggish blah want some more coffee or a nap’? If you haven’t given this matter much thought recently, or have the idea that it isn’t up to you, that it’s out of your control, you may want to sit up and take notice of your body.

Your body’s attitude and energy at any given moment has a lot to do with you, and you have enormous power to help and heal your own body.

Is it time for peace talks with your body?

Do you see your body as a ‘frienemy’?

You may have believed a lie about your body. Perhaps the lie is that it’s flawed, too thin, too fat, or just not right somehow. You may not fit into the perfect ideal presented constantly in our culture, everywhere you look. You may believe that your body is wrong, and so you fight with it, every day.

You may believe that the spirit is superior to the body, and so you leave your body to fend for itself, without listening to its cries for attention.

Emotional prosperity and well being

Emotional prosperity is about having permission to feel your own true emotions, without judging what you feel.

Happy emotions are fun to feel, and are seen as being superior to other more challenging and painful emotions. Sometimes we condemn our more difficult feelings as being bad, or as indicators that there is something wrong with us.

We might feel shame about them, as in "I shouldn't feel that way about __________, I'm ungrateful, unkind, or ungracious for feeling this way".

Are you the author of your life story?

Every day you wake up to begin a new chapter in your life story.

The story of your life isn't written until you live it, and you get to make it up as you go along. You are in charge of deciding what story lines to follow, which choices to make, what your character says and does. You give your life story its overall tone and feel. You develop new plots, story lines, and introduce new characters into the story.

You can be your own writer, editor, and publisher. You don't need anyone else to give you the stamp of approval - it's your story to tell, not theirs. By doing this, you get to know yourself better.
